Description
With the JR East Pass, you can travel as often as you like within the pass’s validity period on all JR East lines (including BRT), the Izu Kyuko Line, the Tokyo Monorail, the Aomori Railway, the Iwate Ginga Railway and the Sendai Airport Express Line. This includes all limited express trains (including the Shinkansen), rapid services and local trains in standard-class reserved seats within the covered area.
This arrangement eliminates the need to purchase tickets before each journey, and you need not worry about language barriers. The Pass will be sent to you electronically before departure, making your trip even more convenient. Whether you are exploring the beautiful natural landscapes or cultural heritage sites of the Tohoku region, you can enjoy your journey with ease!

- The reserved seats in the ordinary cars of the limited express trains ("Nikko", "SPACIA Nikko", "Kinugawa", "SPACIA Kinugawa") that run through JR East Line and Tobu Railway Line, passengers can also travel in the unreserved seats in the ordinary cars between Shimoimachi and Tobu Nikko/Kinugawa Onsen on the Tobu Railway Line
Trains below cannot be used!
- The Tokaido Shinkansen.
- The Izu Kyuko Line or Fujikyu Railway Line.
- Gala Yuzawa Station only operates during the winter and spring.

You must reserve a seat before boarding. There are two ways to do this:
1) Go to the station ticket office, show your JR Pass to the staff, and collect your JR reserved-seat ticket
2) Use the reserved-seat ticket machines at any JR station to make a reservation and collect your ticket, avoiding the need to queue at the ticket office.
Terms & Conditions
- JR tickets operate under a registration system, with a very complicated booking process. Please ensure you provide all necessary information when placing your order. Please be aware that should any delays in ticket issuance occur due to incomplete information, or should any details need to be amended, passengers will be held responsible and required to pay a handling fee.
- Adults or holders of a rail pass may travel with up to two infants (aged 1–5) free of charge. A child’s rail pass must be purchased for the third child onwards. Infants under one year of age may travel free of charge.
- A child’s rail pass must be purchased for each infant in the following circumstances:
① Where an infant is travelling alone in a reserved seat in a standard carriage (Standard Class Reserved Seat)
② When the child is travelling alone.
- Luggage regulations for carriages: Luggage must not exceed a combined total of 250 cm in height, width and length (up to 200 cm in length), and passengers may carry up to two items weighing a total of 30 kg (umbrellas, walking sticks, hand luggage and rucksacks are not included in this limit).
- If the name provided at the time of purchase does not match the name on your passport, you will not be able to collect your ticket at designated locations in Japan. Please ensure that your name (including the pinyin spelling) is correct when placing your order.
- Bookings are only available for travel within three months from the date of purchase.
- During your stay in Japan, you may use only one JR East Rail Pass at a time. (If the validity periods overlap, you cannot purchase the same type of pass.)
- Please note that if you do not collect your reserved seat ticket by 21:00 on the day before your journey, your reservation will be automatically cancelled, and you will not be able to collect the ticket on the day of travel.
- You may use the Pass to enter and exit stations via automatic ticket gates without the need for manual ticket inspection.
- You may use the Pass to book reserved seats directly at JR East reserved seat ticket machines.
- The Pass is valid for consecutive use: once redeemed, it must be used for 5 or 10 consecutive days starting from the first day of use; it will become invalid after this period.
- Once your order is complete, your ticket will be sent via email. Please print out the e-ticket details (name, reservation number, ticket number) clearly.
- Please collect your physical JR Pass at a designated exchange point in Japan within 90 days of the purchase date using your exchange voucher. Once you have exchanged your physical JR Pass in Japan, please activate it within 30 days.

- Tickets must be redeemed at designated counters in Japan. Please refer to the official website for redemption locations
- Prices are calculated based on the lowest available airfares, hotel rates and surcharges on the day of booking. Actual costs may vary due to exchange rates and availability. We reserve the right to adjust prices without prior notice should changes occur for the aforementioned reasons.
- Once a travel package has been confirmed, no changes can be made to any details, and no refunds will be issued for any payments already made.
- As travellers are unable to provide travel documents for inspection by our staff at the time of booking, travellers must check and ensure for themselves and their travelling companions that:
* The English names of registered travellers must match the English names on their travel documents
* Travel documents must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure
* Hold a valid visa for transit or entry
* Have sufficient blank pages in the passport for immigration purposes
- To ensure a more worry-free journey, the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong recommends purchasing travel insurance to protect yourself whilst travelling
- The Company will not accept any refund requests from passengers who fail to board the flight as scheduled
